to see through the eyes of another...

Meet Heathy
(aka Heather)
My partner in crime, as well as my style Guru

Asymmetrical Tunic (as dress) - Wet Seal
Fringe Print Skirt - Norma Kamali
Faux Fur Vest - Victoria Secret
Jewelry - Vintage
Sheer Nylons - Assets
Platform Cut-out Pumps - Jessica Simpson's "Cadie"

It's true what they say, perspective changes everything.

When I met my girlfriend Heather, her perspective on style literally changed my views on how to compile pieces entirely; at times she would hold up articles of clothing together that almost seemed frightening to the naked eye, yet once she put them all together I could then see her vision.

I am now very aware that those same miscellaneous pieces can easily come together to form some of the most amazing outfits I have ever seen.
Ever.

It goes without saying that she has single handedly expanded my knowledge regarding the fashion world & for that I am forever grateful to her.

I cannot lie;
together we form an amazing team, with brilliant and extremely unique ideas of what fashion should, and does, consist of in our lives.

We have just begun to blog our looks together, so if you find my aesthetics pleasing to the eye, just wait until you experience us as one.

I will continue to keep up on this blog too (I promise!)
as my password was forgotten and to my dismay,
I missed many months of fashion talk with all of you.

I must say, it's very nice to be home again.

bliss... live it.

Feeling blissful is my ultimate goal in life, as I feel it encompasses satisfaction with aspects of The Self, as well as the feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment with life, and as a result, we are given the amazing ability to experience unyieldingly pure happiness.

These moments are times I strive for every single day.

I feel incredibly blissful when I am immersed in shoes love.

Now tell me, what makes you feel truly blissful?

as light as a feather...

One look
& I fell overboard.

It's summertime and everywhere you look online retailers are having end-of-season sales and
you better believe, I always take full advantage.

I fell in love and "right off the boat"
as soon as I came across this flowing tiered white & black feather embraced top by Gemma.

Gorgeous. Simple.
Evoking thoughts of lightness & freedom.

At half off the retail cost, I figured I should not be passing this one up -
Although this is my first Gemma purchase, I am just hoping the quality of this brand is equal to the quality of the design.

If you wear a Medium or Large -
check out www.shopbop.com & use the code EXTRA20
to get the full 50% off.

Are we liking the feathery Gemma top, my loves?

today is a gift.

I wish there was someone who I could credit for this quote,
but unfortunately I was unable to find it's awe-inspiring source.

I simply love it all, but a line that especially catches my eye:
"He who loses money, loses much;
He who loses a friend, loses much more;
He who loses faith, loses all."

In essence, never let go of your sense of faith -
Be it in life, love and your own adventure for a happy ending,
because if you do, you have already lost it all.

Everyday we are granted is a gift;
what a perfect perspective to hold & one I will always cherish.

my latest love...

I was never really a huge fan of espadrille wedges,
but I will confess that lately I've grown a real appreciation for them, a liking even one might say.
Habituation, at it's finest I am sure.

While cruising the likes of each and every online retailer I could think of,
I stumbled across these beauties;
'Leroy' by Sam Edelman & simply could not pass them up.

My fingers will remained cross that they fit as amazingly as they look.

Are you guys feeling the espadrilles?

my good fortune.

I have always loved cracking open a fortune cookie -
the mystery of what my fortune could say is thrilling for me; the excitement of the secret message intended just for me and being able to apply these fortunes to my life feels validating, inspiring and insightful.

Sufficed to say, I am one of those check-your-horoscope-daily kind of girls, and if I could have a fortune cookie daily, there is not doubt, I certainly would.

My most recent fortunes have been amazingly perfect for my life and current situation and I thought I would share them with you & perhaps inspire you, as well.

"Do it because you love it."

"A kiss makes the heart young again & wipes out the years."

&

"All that we have is a result of what we have thought."

All of these fortunes have such deep meaning for me and really go along with my beliefs about life. Right before I began this blog, I received the first fortune and I knew it was my final push of encouragement to create an outlet for my thoughts and ideas, as well as reach for goals that will allow me to do what I love.

The second fortune just rings so true for all relationships; be it family, friends or lovers, sometimes a seemingly simple kiss can literally take you to another state of mind entirely and make you feel like a brand new person, all in the blink of an eye.

As for the last fortune, I know we all have the power to change our lives and reach our goals, simply by using positive thoughts and keeping hope in our hearts. Harnessing and believing in this power is the key, and something I am still working towards each & every single day.

(I tried to take photographs of my recent fortunes, but my camera decided they would be horribly blurred, so instead I have provided a photograph of what looks like the most delicious fortune cookies I have ever laid eyes on.)

keep the channel open.

I absolutely love this quote.
Love.

So amazingly honest & true.
After coming across this quote, I began to gain a new perspective on my own life & purpose.

I knew this was something I must to share it with all of you and I hope that Martha is able to inspire you, just as she has inspired me.

Underlying message for all of us:
Keep the channel open, always.

take me away...

It pains me to say that I have yet to leave the comfort of California; ever. Born and raised here, I have never had the opportunity to travel, but I have always yearned to see the real world - not just what they show on television.

In just a little over two months, August 20th, my six year anniversary will have arrived (I know!) and I want to do something both memorable and monumental; I feel a vacation is the perfect solution.
I also have recently graduated my first years of college, and although I eventually plan to return, I want to do something amazing & see the world before I get back to my daily grind of term papers, studying and exams.

I'm thinking somewhere sunny & warm... beachy perhaps, with a gorgeous view... good culture, amazing food, lots of sight-seeing... somewhere incredibly peaceful and relaxing....

Now because I know very little about vacationing, I am going to ask you, my readers, where your best vacation spot has been and maybe offer me some recommendations for my first real venture out into the world.

Where's your very favorite place to travel?
